Day 1:

Depart from Cabañas Río Yambala for the Las Palmas reserve, a 3-4 hour trek through spectacular scenery up the Rio Yambala valley into the heart of the Andes.
Descend into cloud forest at the union of rivers before climbing up to Las Palmas reserve, a total of 8km’s and 800mt’s in elevation.
Lunch at the refuge, before hiking through the cloud forest to discover the intriguing ecology of the tropical cloud forest.
Explore the exotic hanging gardens of the treetops on our canopy tour, which zips you up to an observation platform and takes you from tree to tree via a suspension bridge.

Day 2:

Hike through the forest and visit one or two sets of waterfalls (the choice is yours) before saddling up for the return trek downvalley.

You should bring:
Hiking boots and a dry change of footwear, rain gear, a warm change of clothes, sun cream, hat, camera and plenty of film, binoculars, insect repelant and our bird guide.
